Benefits to joining the international APIC and the state APIC chapter for South Carolina, APIC Palmetto, include:

  • Networking with your fellow Infection Preventionists
  • Reduced registration fees for educational conferences and printed materials
  • APIC Palmetto members can register for and participate in the chapter’s forum, The APIC Palmetto Discussion and Information Board.
The forum is a valuable resource; it includes categories and information such as:
  • 1. Hot Topics, News Flashes and APIC Palmetto News
  • 2. General IC Topics and Networking
  • 3. Minutes from APIC Palmetto Meetings: Board and Regional
  • 4. The APIC Palmetto News: Chapter Newsletter
  • 4. HIDA and NHSN
  • 5. SCHA Communications
  • 6. Timely and important messages from the chapter President, President-Elect and Communications Chair are generated and sent via the Discussion Board's email function
  • 7. Various PowerPoint Presentations from past APIC Palmetto educational conferences and other beneficial documents

Note: Until you join APIC Palmetto and register for the Discussion and Information Board, you will not see the categories, topics or posts when you click on the Forum link. It says that “This Board has no forums”, but that’s not true. As of March 7, 2010, our discussion board had a total of 861 posts in a total of 300 topics, and the number will continue to grow.
