About Us
APIC is an international association of 12,000 Infection Preventionists and more than 110 chapters. APIC Palmetto is the chapter of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. for South Carolina. APIC - because of its size, scope, and expertise - is uniquely positioned to prevent infection throughout the world by connecting the science of infection prevention and control to the people most deeply and personally affected by it - patients and healthcare workers - through education and advocacy.
APIC Palmetto became a chartered chapter of national APIC on September 17, 1982 and celebrated its 20th Anniversary in 2002.
