If you are involved in infection prevention efforts for your SC facility or organization APIC Palmetto and this website are here for you.

APIC Palmetto is a local chapter of the international organization of APIC, the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. The chapter is comprised of 142 members from the 3 regions of the state; upstate, midlands and low-country. Regional meetings occur throughout the year as well as an annual statewide educational conference in the fall. Additional educational programs to meet our members’ needs are provided on-line or may be offered at a scheduled site during the year.

Through the support of our multidisciplinary membership our vision is to improve health in our state, nation and ultimately the world. We believe our vision is guided by our values of integrity, respect, stewardship, collaboration, professionalism and excellence.

No matter if you’ve been in infection prevention for 30 days or 30 years, you have experience to share and much to gain as a member of APIC Palmetto. We invite you to surf our site, get to know us and hopefully join in the excitement as we support each other in making our world a safer place.

APIC Palmetto, as the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (APIC) chapter encompassing the entire state of South Carolina, is one of over 110 chapters of APIC, a multidisciplinary, voluntary, international organization. The purpose of APIC Palmetto is to improve the quality of health in South Carolina by reducing risks of infection and related adverse outcomes through the practice of infection prevention, control and applied epidemiology.
